How We Collect Personal Information

We collect your email address as the only direct item of personally identifiable information (collectively "Identity Information") that you submit through your use of the Services. You will be asked to create and provide a username and password each time you log-in to access the Services and we collect and store this information in our database. We never collect your social security number, name, physical address, ZIP code, phone number or any payment information.

(Advisers Only) If you are a financial professional who intends to subscribe to our Professional License, we may also collect your name, ZIP code, professional credentials, and payment information. You will submit your payment information directly to our payment processor and this information will never be stored on our servers. None of your personal data will ever be disclosed or shared with our users or any third parties. The only exception is if you signed up for the Networking Service under the Professional License, in which case your name and credentials may be listed publicly on our website.

Website Forms

When you provide any Identity Information through any form contained on this Website in order to contact us or send us a message, we collect and store this information. We may use your email or any other Identity Information you provide as expressly set forth in this Policy.

Services Demographic & Financial Information

When you provide your and your partner's date of birth, number of dependents, marital status, state of residence or retirement residency, income information, retirement account and social security benefit amounts, amount of mortgages on properties you own and related property tax information, and any other demographic and financial information (collectively known as "Demographic Information") we collect and store such Demographic Information. This information is primarily used in producing your retirement planning analysis. We may also use this information internally to assist us to analyze the profiles of users of the Services and our web traffic in general. We will never share this information in association with your Identity Information. As our website grows, we do intend to generate and share anonymous statistics about retirement readiness to help policymakers, employers, and business leaders better understand the needs and challenges of our retirement system. However, no such data we aggregate and share would be able to identify any users of the Services and would never be bundled in such a manner that would allow any such recipients to be able to identify you. Your information used in such studies will be anonymized.

Forum Comments

When you leave any comments in connection with any of our articles, we collect and store this information in our database along with your email address. We use any Identity Information we collect from you as described in this Policy. Comments posted on our forums, by their nature, are immediately and publicly visible to all visitors to this website and they are not private. When you share information publicly, it may be indexable by search engines. Do not post information you consider to be private in nature.

Hosting/Data Storage. We use Amazon Cloud (AWS) to host this Website and store your data on their cloud-based servers.

B. Specific Services

Payment Processors. When you purchase a Professional License to use the Services, the payment will be processed through Stripe and your payment information will never be processed or stored on our servers.

Website Security. We use Sucuri to secure our website, including the use of a firewall and protection from malware and any other forms of attack on our Website. Should any malware infiltrate are Website and/or databases, their team of engineers is available 24/7 to identify and manually resolve any issues.

Your California Resident Privacy Rights: California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of their personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. California law also allows California residents to opt out of having this information disclosed. We would hereby like to disclose that we do not share your personal information or information you have entered into our website, or information we might have gathered in the course of operating our website, with any third party for their direct marketing purposes.
